Separate freezers come in upright and chest versions and a variety of sizes. Upright models range from under counter to 2m high, with widths 50, 55 or 60cm, and may be either freestanding or built-in.
Frost free models have a fan which moves the air around and should never need defrosting – for optimal effectiveness keep your freezer well stocked, or put scrunched newspaper into empty drawers. Another option is Low Frost / Smart Frost models, which are not fully frost free, but need defrosting much less frequently than standard static models and are generally more energy efficient than frost free models.
Built-in freezers can be under-counter or in-column. If you are replacing an existing built-in freezer, measure the niche height and furniture door height, then give us a call or drop in to our Bath showroom where our staff will be able to advise you of the available options.
Freestanding models are available in white or stainless steel.
Other features to look out for include fast freeze, temperature/door alarm, and telescopic drawer runners.
If your freezer will live in a garage, unheated cellar or outbuilding you will need to ensure that it is a model which functions at low temperatures – many models are only suitable for air temperatures of 10 degrees celsius and over, but there are some available which work in temperatures as low as minus 15 degrees celsius. Our staff can advise you on a suitable model to meet your requirements.
We display models from leading manufacturers including AEG, Blomberg, Bosch, Lec, Liebherr, Miele, Siemens and Zanussi.
